  • Never accept checks - they can bounce after you've given away the item
  • Be wary of overpayment scams - if someone offers more than asking price, it's likely a scam
  • Never share bank account details beyond what's needed for a transfer

  • Inspect items thoroughly before paying
  • Test electronics to ensure they work properly
  • For vehicles, request maintenance history and consider a professional inspection
